Very Fast September 15, 2009 R. Morris (Southern US) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Slapped this chip in a 790i with a Swiftech GTZ water block. It's a lot faster, and cooler then my Q6600, got it stable up to 4.3ghz

Outstanding 775 Chip! October 21, 2009 Eric J. Markwardt (Farmington, MN) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I decided to upgrade my E6600 before jumping to Windows 7 this week. The results are amazing. Temps run around 90 degrees F with a Thermaltake MozartTX case (w extra fans) and a Thermaltake hi rise CPU cooler at full load and less than room temperature at idle!
The main advantage for me was in the encoding speed. I regularly use my PC to encode movies for my Archos 7. With the E6600 I was able to encode full resolution h.264 movies at 1250kbps at 25fps using Handbrake. The Q9650 encodes at 98fps. Simply amazing. A good quick drop-in upgrade for those looking to hold off on a i7 upgrade.
My first computer build. June 30, 2009 Imagination, Light & Logic (Albuquerque, NM USA) I wanted a 64 bit computer and selected this processor for price/performance specs. I was having issues with speed and crashes while using my 3D software. After building my system with this processor, I am completely happy with its performance and speed. No more crashes and I can now render with good speed and no crashes.
Super Upgrade March 10, 2009 Joseph P. Davidson (Little Rock, AR USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
After figuring out how to upgrade the motherboard bios this cpu meets all expectations. The fan that came with it is rather loud but works well.
